Michelle has been conducting genealogical research for 22 years on a hobby basis and now has over 3'500 people researched and documented in her family tree with 3'000 documents (census records, birth, death, marriage certificates, military records and land purchase agreements). Her great-great grandfather was the founder of the Initial Towel Supply Company, now Rentokil Initial. Descendant of Irish, Scottish, English and Swiss ancestors, her family first arrived in the U.S. in 1620. Initially Settling on the east coast, in Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina and Indiana, her great-grandfather went west on the Oregon Trail with his siblings to settle in Silverton and then Salem, Oregon. Her 2 Swiss great-great-great-great grandfathers were some of the initial settlers and landowners of the wine town Vevay, Switzerland County, Indiana, USA.
Michelle has lived in Switzerland for 22 years, is married and speaks fluent English, German, Swiss-German and good-level French. Michelle can translate written documents.
Michelle can research documents in Switzerland and is interested in photographing gravestones, old family churches, villages and old family homes in Switzerland.
